The Flying Nymph™ can only be described by Rick himself:
"Here is a Nymph or a Streamer or a Emerging Mayfly or it could also be called a Mayfly/Stonefly Nymph or hybrid. All I know is that it works. It works dead drifting. It works when applying a little twitch (emerging) and it also works on a swing. I have been experimenting with this pattern for the past three seasons in Pennsylvania streams, rivers and creeks. It has also met the challenges of the AuSable and Saranac Rivers in New York. Some key features that I feel make it work are:
• CDC Tail Material that pulsates during the drift.
• It has Contrast, which I feel is very important.
• Emerging or Flying Wings, hence the name.
• Flashback gold material.
• Just looks BUGGY
...When I show the Flying Nymph™ to other fishermen to get their opinions what I hear most is that it just looks BUGGY and I agree it does look buggy."
The fish love it, our guides love it. Use one and you'll love it too!
