The first fly in the Lehigh Unusual line-up was the blue winged olive version. An experiment to create an easy to tie, productive, and durable bwo pattern. After seeing how productive the fly was we were pleased to discover that just by changing the size and material colors the fly could cover most of the hatches we encounter. The L.U. profile mimics a distressed insect struggling to emerge very well. What's better is that the fly can be used during all stages of a hatch. Sink it and fish it as a wet or emerger, grease it and fish during the emergence, or spread the fibers out to the sides and fish it as a spinner. A very versatile pattern.
